Thermoregulation of orphaned echidna puggles

Current position

Maintain ambient at 26–28°C for unfurred puggles; 22–24°C once spines emerge. Never use direct heat sources; humidity should sit between 60–70%.

Unfurred (<45 days): 26–28°C, humidity 60–70%.

Spined (>45 days): 22–24°C, reducing to ambient as weaning approaches.

Indirect heat only — heat mats under half the enclosure, thermostat-controlled.
